expanding musical possibilities

Rusty Patch Studio takes its name from the rusty patched bumblebee, an Iowan endangered species. Bumblebees earned notoriety in 1934 when a pair of researchers concluded “their flight is impossible,” at least according to known laws of aviation. In truth, bumblebees’ flight is a triumph over physical limitations and a reminder that each of us fills a unique niche.

Music-making is an experience to be enjoyed by all.

Rusty Patch Studio strives to build both musicianship and community, expanding musical possibilities.
